heh, so it boughts another videocard, that's slightly faster than his existing 680?

what is to become of the 680 might I ask? perhaps I could be persuaded to take it off thy hands?

Well I don't want to get myself in another situation like twice before when I had to RMA a card and didn't have a second one to tide me over so I better hang onto it. ;) But if my mind changes you will be first to know. Yes I bought a 660ti but it was a pacifier and once my 680 returned from eVGA I took it back and got a full refund within the 30days.
The 770 seems to be a 680 on....well, not steroids but maybe a couple cans of Redbull. Should I say (rebadged 680?) And it even runs cooler. 68C was the max last night on BF3 with fan on Auto.. 28C idle. And that's in an 800D case. a poor airflow case. The ACX cooler seems to do its job.
EK released some WBs for this one and Im considering it since Im gonna push thus card to its limit. Plus the free backplate from eVGA. I can really see the difference in BF3. Much smoother gameplay. I really like this one.
On a side note. I have 90 days to decide if I want to StepUp to a 780 or even the Hydro. You never know. I may get antsy.

lol, to be honest, I've been keeping an eye on the 660 ti sales, they're almost down to what I'm willing to spend.

I've been doing more gaming on my htpc since I upgraded to an AMD fusion setup than anything. Wife and I been playing NFS shift all day.

You wont be disappointed with the 660ti. Just make sure it s the ti.
As for this 770. I dont think it makes any sense to shell out the extra 200-250 for a 780. But hey....I have done some senseless things before.

Well the 770 is a rebranded 680, so your thoughts are accurate. Likewise, the 760 is the 670.

The 780 is a cut down Titan.

well, there are some improvements on the 770 compared to the 680, it's not entirely a rebrand, they did revamp the pcd and cooler design which allowed for faster memory and lower temps. it's not a big improvement on the design, but still an improvement

If I'm going to go for a new top end card, it'll be next gen when hopefully something new and mind blowing actually comes out

for now, I think a 660 / 660 ti, maybe a 760 for the right price will do. I'm thinking right on a the 200$ mark, for the amount of gaming I do, I can't spend too much. plus I play at 1600x1200 which falls under 1080 in terms of total real estate on screen, which makes it difficult to judge what I'll get in real life compared to reviews

I uploaded my invoice on Monday for a free GTX770 backplate and it shows up today w/ free shipping. They didn't even tell me it was coming.
Next time they give me something free they better tell me about it.

maybe they're using salesforce as their CMS....it has a habbit of appearing to send emails while not actually send them as I've noticed through the last two jobs I've worked that used salesforce

even with WD, i get some of their emails, and not others. I noticed because I've rma's 6 drives recently, and some of them I didn't get any email notifications at all
