Post Bent pin and it works?
Say it isn't so. It's possible for a computer to work if one of the cpu socket pins are bent??

An aquaintance has a Z68 Asus board with a bent pin and he popped the 2500k in and it booted and runs.

Yup, very common. A lot of the pins are just extra grounds and some not even used at all.

I had an AMD 939 socket proc that had a few bent pins and when I tried to straighten a few out, one broke off. I still got it to work, but I have to tell you, I was so damned skeered that I had FUBARED the thing, that I was sweating bullets when I put it back together.

Ah, the good ol' days of straightening CPU pens with a credit card. Doesn't seem that long ago actually.

Ok......so you learn something everyday. I would not have thought. I guess I can stop accusing him of being on crack.
