Post What's the best Z97 mobo w/M.2
Soooo, after figuring out how to get on this site for the life of me, I'm wondering if there is anyone out there that could help me with my question.

Hello?

Anyone out there?

pick and choose. Asus, Asrock, MSI, and Gigabyte still seem to be the top choices for boards.

Don't you see? He don't wanna choose. You choose for him.
Go ahead , pick one. He'll bite. He's quite susceptible.

You guys should know I'm just phishing for compliments, right? I really can't decide between the Asus Z97 Pro Gamer and the Asus Z97-E. My biggest concern is whether the M.2 will support NVMe devices ...

just had a close look at the specs on both of those. tough choice...they both have all the same features in general. the gamer board probably has better audio (i would hope) but if you're not much of an audiophile, than that's a tough sell.

The gamer board has a 3rd full size PCI-e slot, albeit it's 2.0. if you're not planning on SLI or Crossfire though, this really doesn't matter either

I think I'd pick based on color scheme of the other components going in with it because the colors have to match, and I don't care about the price

my only question is, why buy a board that takes DDR3 now?

Cause I have a ship load of DDR3 memory. I haven't seen that much of an improvement between the two for gaming or even just everyday stuff. What I have seen is the difference between Win 10 and Win 7 in starting up and browser activity. Win 10 seems faster. But I haven't gone to it for my gaming machine, just my everyday rig.

So after most of the weekend scouring the Internets, I'm considering this Asrock mobo strictly for the Ultra M.2 slot. But I can't get around the blue color, my RAM is red (Mushkin Redline) and my accent color on my Raven is Gold ...

have you considered any MSI boards yet? they seem to do a lot of black and grey which might be easier for color matching?
