Post Odd laptop problem
So my friend has a dell studio 1555 laptop and was on it the other night and lost her temper and hit the keyboard. Now it's making a buzzing noise and it won't turn on. It only make the noise when power is being supplied. Do you guys know what the problem could be? Thanks.

She broke it?

Depends. Just how hard did she hit it? It could have done a number of things to it given how compact laptops are and the close proximity of the keys to it's internal parts.
Does it even show anything on the screen? Does the power light come on?

I do the same thing when my pR0n sites lock up. But desktop KB's are cheap. :shifty:

Oh and welcome to da cabin Nitro.

Yeah basically the whole laptop is under that keyboard. Could of cracked the motherboard/CPU/chipset/etc. Who knows really.

Best to call up Dell and send it in if it's still under warranty. Nothing you can really do to fix laptops IMO.

I believe she hit it pretty hard. I wasn't actually there. She said she hit it and the screen went black and it started buzzing. It still buzzes now and the power button won't even light up and nothing shows on screen period. The buzzing of course is only when there is power being supplied and it sounds to me like it's coming from the area right under the RAM area. I was thinking maybe the HDD could've gotten damaged and then that would explain nothing showing on screen and the buzzing could possibly be the disks spinning out of line but since the power button won't even light up I doubt that's what it is.
Oh and thanks for the welcome Comixion, good to be here and see all the ol' friendly faces... well avatars lol
