Post Time for a new computer.
So I got a new job! WOO HOO! no more contracting crap.

And as part of this new designer/developer roll I have landed comes a new computer! I'm thinking a laptop is a better idea this time as I feel I'll probably be meeting with clients. And yes, it will probably be a Mac.

Uses will be web design/development and person use.

Your thoughts?

I'm afraid I can't keep this promise.

I had the pleasure of working on a 15'' mbp with retina display and was very impressed with the overall design. Lack of Ethernet port made installing windows 7 interesting. Look into those.

They should ship with a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter, at least the ones we buy at work do.

And what's the point of this thread? If your buying a Mac, there's only 2 choices: Macbook Pro or Air. Pretty sure the only real choice is the Pro for your usage.

Personally, I've been eyeing the Sony Vaio Pro 13. It's actually better than the Macbook Air on most accounts: thinner and lighter, 1080p screen, similar battery life. Maybe you can be persuaded: http://store.sony.com/c/Pro-Series-Note ... ERIES_PAGE

I vote for the new MBP, then you can give it a good go and explain to me why I should upgrade from my MBP 2010 ;)

I'm open to ideas beyond the Mac. In fact I'm a little concerned that the ram on the 2013 Retina's are not removable. So if they fail I have an issue (thought I've never had ram fail, ever).
