I just filled up a pretend $3000 shopping cart on Newegg and sit and stared at it a while. It sure felt good. I really need help. :(
(help funding it that is)

I'm not a big fan on acrylic cases. They are absolute dust hogs :P

Do share you secrets on keeping black acrylic clean!

I just wipe it every so often!! :D Plus there is more to come.....

Read on please JD....

I did have a few issues when putting this case together.. It wasnt anything major but I was happy when it was all sorted!!

Image

As you can see from the pic, the screws where too long for the holes so I had to drill through to make them big enough

Image

Fortunately it really wasnt that much drilling to do as the screws werent anymore than 10mm longer than they should have been, so I was happy :)

Image

Image

When adding things into the case, everything fitted perfectly. This case was so simple to put together it was a dream to put together :)

Hard drives in place:

Image

Image

With the drives in place and in sort of position, I went to work on the rest of the bits I had laying about :) The radiators went in:

Image

Image

Image

Image

After everything was added into it that I could until some more bits get here, here's what we were left with :)
The reason for the neoprene on the back of the radiators were to not only space out the screws a little but to also help protect the case a little more too :)

Image

Image

Right now, here's the money shots I hope :D

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

I got two :D
I thought whilst I was getting one customised, I'd get another whilst I was at it :)
They now fit 10 hard drives and allow me to use 2 quad radiators and a triple radiators which is just perfect for what I was wanting to fit inside them :D

I'm just waiting on a few other things to come to finish these off and then its a case of waiting on my bits to come in at Scan and then I should finally have these things finished!!

I hope you guys are enjoying the build :) I've got a few more pictures of the older hardware and a few changes that have happened with those :)

I'll update again as soon as I can for you all and I hope its something that people are interested in seeing finally finished :D

Personally I would of bought smaller screws rather than drilling it out...but that's just me ;)

Is everything in these acrylic or does it have a steel/aluminum frame? Curious because the acrylic case I had was pretty flimsy once it was loaded up with hardware as it was only joined together with some cubes in every corner.

I would have gotten different screws mate, but because the US is in imperial and the UK is in metric, sizes were an issue!!

Its all acrylic mate and one thing I will say, its not flimsy at all.. Its bloody strong and weighs a tonne with all that hardware in!! Its very very well put together with how its been designed and how it fits. No issues with my cutting my hand on sharp pieces or anything, I was and still am, very impressed with both :) So much so I'm going to get another but a different design :)

Can't buy any imperial screws in the UK? Here in Canada we have both, even though our country is technically metric.

You could of also sawed down the screws too ;)

I did try the sawn off screw idea but that was such a pain in the arse it never worked.. I couldnt grip hold of the screw when I was taking the nut off so I couldnt get the screw end right to thread in, it was a bit of a mess :( I could have gotten some imperial screws, but I just couldnt be bothered to wait!!

Good idea imo. Clamps are so unbecoming. I'm considering a redo myself with the 7/16ID. This time blue maybe. Is that Feser or Primochill? Or? And what are gonna use for da juices?

How come that last picture the X58 logo looks dirty/rusty? Is that how it's supposed to be?
