What's wrong with it, exactly?

Although it does show the username as banned in the "banned" list, it still shows the username in the member list.

I think the option you want is "Delete" not "Ban".

I assumed the username would delete from the member list once banned.
I probabley should have rephrased the title.
Ban function works, just couldnt delete username from list.

We technically don't want that because the user may make a case to be unbanned (and we can't un-ban if he's deleted). But myself and our fearless leader have the option to go through and do mass deletions (purges) which I may have to do. Usually I purge anyone who's post count is 0. But that may not be a good idea anymore. I bet I can at least purge the ban list.

Nope, can't delete the ban list. But I can delete anyone who's post count is 0. Think it's time for that or do you think that would delete some good people by accident?

Well thats a shot in the dark. You really dont know. I just see alot of those usernames have been in the list quite a while but remembering which is another thing.
You can however, look at a username and tell that just maybe it was just made up only to do a "spam" post (1 post or more) just by its name and/or how the letters and numbers are arranged. Get what Im saying? Some just look bogus and quickly made up. Also why would you register as a member and not post? You can still browse the forum...or should I say troll. ;)
As for being able to tell who is genuine and who isnt.....thats tough. And No we dont wanna kick a genuine member.
I just thought a purge of the member list was in order. Plus I got bored.

Nuke it all, seems anyone who does join here, at least makes 1 post.

And that 1 post is usually spam.

If we disallow the post it doesn't get registered in the system. So they still show as 0 posts. Which is good during "the purge".

True. But what about the usernames with 0 posts? Im sure each individual has their own reason but why are they registered with no posts? Like you said it hard to distinguish a legit name but geez......thats alot of goose eggs.
I dunno....like I said...I just felt like sweeping the hallways.

I feel like we should, but I think we may want to see what our fearless leader has to say.

I meant when somebody (legit) makes an account, they usually post right after saying "Hi" or "help I have this problem". I doubt many people simply register to register. It serves no benefit to do so, only waste their time.

I had to text him to verify his existence. He answered all questions correctly so well.....I had no choice but to allow his membership to continue.
Plus I felt sorry for him
