Which is the best option for a $200 e-reader?
The wife wants one but does not want an Ipad 2. Thats what my daughter is getting.
I keep hearing the Fire does not have WiFi but I read it does, then read it doesn't wtf

it has Wifi, but not 3g, that's what you're asking.

i was going to get a fire but the reviews aren't great, mainly due to it's sluggish response. but today Amazon announced that it's releasing an update to address that.

I saw them reviews as well. Especially the one on Yahoo's front page practically condemning it. But I'm thinking its coming from Ipad 2 lovers. Of course its better but you pay for it. Mainly because I already bought it becasue I let the know-it-all at BB talk me into getting it over the Nook color. She mainly is gonna be reading with it but I know she's gonna want to get online and check her emails and such. Between it and the Nook there are so many give and takes. I'm considering taking it back and getting the Nook. Hell I dunno.

i think you should keep it and get it from your wife, play with it more, and let me know how it goes. cause i might just get one if they new update fixes most of the issues with performance.

FYI, you can jail break the Fire, which will allow you access to the actual Android market place, which is the only reason i would consider buying it. Android market place has the apps i need.
