Battlefield 4 Premium $49

Battlefield 4 Standard Ed. $59

Battlefield 4 Digital deluxe $69

Rationalize please
I dont care about the $$ just which purchase gives me more.
Is there a detailed comparison chart

Premium = access to all DLC's 2 weeks early and other benefits (just like BF3). This does NOT include the actual game.

Standard = the game, nothing more.

Digital Deluxe = the game, China Rising, 3 Battlepacks.

If you want "everything", get Standard + Premium. The Battlepacks aren't a big deal and you unlock them as you rank up too. Likewise I think Premium users get additional Battlepacks too.

(Battlepacks = randomly chosen accessories for weapons and 1hr XP boosts in varying percentages)

i am confused. i thought all the pre-orders get all the DLCs for free. at least that's what the fine print said when i ordered it. so how come my battlelog now doesn't say premium as well. does this mean i won't get all the upcoming DLCs?

anyone?

Shit like this is why I've chosen to opt out of a lot of games lately. Steam or get off the pot.

Premium does not include the actual game.

Basically it's $100 for "everything". You need Premium + Standard Edition.

As Howard is saying, I too thought Digital Deluxe came with "everything" but that does not appear to be the case. Obviously the marketing was misleading and I have no records of it, so I can't say anything. As it stands, Digital Deluxe gives you 3 Gold Battlepacks and access to China Rising (the first DLC).

Anyhow, Green Man Gaming (assuming your registered) sent out a 20% off code today. This works on BF4, so I picked up Premium for $40 today.

It's the main game I play online, so I feel I'll get my money's worth regardless.

Careful, it says "Premium Expansion pack" which refers to China Rising, the first of 5 "premium" expansions. That is accurate and you will get that. It does not state "Premium Membership".

if that's the case, it's grossly misleading on their part. no where at the promotion page for the pre-order did they ever mention the difference between Premium Membership VS Premium Pack. had they clearly draw a line and explain the difference, i would've never pre-ordered the game at the first place. consider the history of the franchise, which the word "premium" conventionally only had one meaning, NOT two.

and i am not the only one who is confused by this. this is clearly grossly misleading to the consumers. if you want to take their stance that's fine, but there're many other forums out there with countless pre-order customers who also thought Premium expansion pack meant a premium account, and clearly saw no difference. you included was confused by this.

i am going to file for a complaint with FTC consumer protection agency. as the advertising and the wording or the pre-order was clearly blury and unclear. they were toying with words and hoping consumers wouldn't know the difference.

Yeah its sly marketing tactics for sure, but it does say "expansion pack" it doesn't say just straight "premium" or "premium membership". And at the bottom of that page, it once again makes reference to the term and clarifies it:
Quote:
Access to China Rising
Pre-ordering the game in any region that allows for pre-orders will get you access to the first Premium Expansion Pack, China Rising, once it is available later in the year.

I'm merely telling you what EA is going to tell you if you try to fight with them ;)

I'm beginning to see why EA was voted the worst company in the US by Consumer Reports (i think) last year.

In short, what they are trying to say is if you want BF4 and all that goes with it, we need $100
In layman's terms.

jeez jeff. when someone tries to take an advantage of you you don't let them. just the same as if someone punches you in the stomach you don't just lay around and let them, you get back up and fucking beat the shit outta them. you put up a fight, you don't just lay around like a piece of meat. it's attitude like that that has companies taking advantage of consumers thinking because they're big, they can get away with what they want.

i've already filed a complaint with BBB, and will be submitting a complaint to the FTC as well. i have no problem with them changing and playing word games, as long as those terms are stated clearly on the pre-order page. in this case, it clearly wasn't, nor was there any link on the pre-order page that links you to the explanation of difference in wording. they're clearing playing in the grey area and hoping some people won't notice. i have no problem if they worded the pre-order as "plus china rising expansion pack", or "plus additional china expansion map pack". but the fact that they used the word "premium pack", it's misleading, consider the history of the franchise, which was associated with a series of downloadable contents. if they want to use the word premium, which was previously associated with all upcoming downloadable content, on the pre-order page, there should be a BIG disclaimer, or a BIG hyper linke astric sign that states the difference. but they didn't do that in the pre-order phase, a lot of people like you and me fell for you. the difference is you're ok with that, but i am not.

here's another example of people who also fell for it as well.
http://oscarmike.com/index.php?threads/ ... eveal.374/

i took a snap shot of the pre-order page, vs the final release order page. they're different. the pre-order page said "Premium expansion Pack", while later on they changed the wording to "China expansion pack". but what about those people who pre-order the game based on that false pretense.

Obviously I created a monster.

I dunno. I was just taken back and confused as to the variety. 49..59..69. And as to exactley what I was getting for my hard earned dollar so naturally Im going to ask myself and you guys as well.
I have to agree that EA or whoever needs to be more self explanatory when it comes to advertising a product. Especially one of this magnitude. You know and they know the release of this game was going to overwhelm gamers and I think they took advantage of the hype.

I would only feel cheated if I paid for something and received nothing.
