Post Re: the Official Battlefield 4 thread
i was quite surprised how much smoother the final release is compare to the beta. i can actually play in Ultra setting with average 40fps in 2550x1440.

the only issue that everyone seem to be having right now is various crashes to desk, and for me i get crash to desktop AND blue screen of death once in a while. hopefully things will be patched and optimized between DICE and AMD int he coming days.

props to the dev for optimizing the game from the beta. one thing i do have to mention tho is, the game looks freaking gorgeous!, makes BF3 looks like tetris.

Yeah no way I can go back to BF3 anymore.

I played some hardcore deathmatch yesterday, and holy shit that was intense! BF3 never ever was that fast paced.

Hopefully they didn't turn it into CoD.

i'd hold off for a little while actually.

a lot of people, including me are having a lot of crashing, BSOD issues right now. EA/DICE isn't exactly pro-active about it.

plus the game isn't very optimized yet. the GPU utilization is a joke at the moment. at times frame rate drops from 60fps to 23fps. i'd wait at the minimum AT LEAST one month before considering getting it.

here's a 90 page long discussion.

I hear upgrading to Windows 8.1 fixes the crashing. I've been on 8.1 since playing BF4 and had no issues.

Only issues I have is with the Railway map (sound cuts in and out) and with servers going offline.

Well, Howard busted my bubble and JD reminded me I need to upgrade my OS. If it's an actual upgrade.

As for the game, just like BF3 in a way we gotta go through these bugs but in the end we will be pleased I'm sure.
They are paying them guys to fix it.
I just hope they are burning the midnight oil. I'm about to pull the trigger on it as well as W8

Post Re: the Official Battlefield 4 thread
it seems we're paying them to test out their games for them nowadays.

back in the days, before patching became a normal, games used to release with little to no bug. if there were a bug, it was called an easter egg. now all the big studios AAA titles come out with beta, which is really a pre-alpha, then release the final, which is really a beta. users who are suckers like me who pre-ordered the game are really just funding for their beta testing.

never pre-order any games again.

Well games are much more sophisticated then they were back in the day.

On the other hand. I think they should work out the bugs before they release them.
Get it right...."then" sell it

I think I might not get into it even after it has been released for a while. So many games so little time...

i have officially stopped playing it. whatever so called server updates they rolled out, have made the crashing even worse. now i get crashes more frequently that i just all decided to stop playing it entirely.
