Post Windows 8 BUILD Keynote
http://live.thisismynext.com/Event/Micr ... LD_keynote

Some promising looking features, though definitely geared towards tablets by the looks of it.

The developer build should be live today at 8PM PST/11PM EST at http://dev.windows.com

It's different to say the least...

Definitely don't like the absence of the start menu and only having this "tile view" mode. Granted you can still search for apps like Windows 7, but its just far too clunky for keyboard/mouse usage IMO.

I can definitely see myself using a Windows 8 tablet though, once they become mainstream and are affordable (say $500 or so).

I share the same opinion of Windows 8 so far. this is only a preview of the tablet interface...I'd like to take another look at it when it has a proper start menu and desktop. Windows as we know it isn't going away yet. :)

You can disable the tile interface pretty easily, bringing back the ol' Start Menu. Just need to change 1 registry key.

I showed it to my mom last night (as I installed it on my m1330) and she immediately touched the screen. It's the only logical thing to do when presented with that interface, even though it wasn't touch screen obviously.
