do you have any used i7 quad cores you want to get rid of? with mobo? i might buy them off of you if the prices are good. i am not looking to spend a lot. i can settle for used, consider it's coming from fellow forum members. but they have to be good overclockers :)

Har har, shipping to Texas doesn't make it really worthwhile ;) If you moved up to Canada, then maybe we could work something out!

So whats the skinny on the card JD? I know you dont have a recon 3d to compare ot to but I heard it was much better. HW wise and SW wise. Im thinking about grabbing one myself. Not the ZX. Just the card. Just as BAM says the CM deteriorates the sound somewhat.

I dunno, it's a soundcard. Nothing to write home about. It works. No driver crashes or anything like that.

And yeah, I just got the Z as well, not the Zx, didn't see a need for that big clunky desktop module.

this is what i am saving up for: http://schiit.com/cart/index.php?main_p ... ducts_id=2
i can use STX's DAC and do a pre-out to it.

but eventually i'd like to pair it up with this: http://schiit.com/cart/index.php?main_p ... ducts_id=7 for a two stage DAC/Tube Amp.

but not before i upgrade my current HD598 to this: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-650 ... 9EYEHLQTYA

but all that is after i complete my home theater upgrade by buying x2 more of this: http://www.amazon.com/JBL-Performance-8 ... SRERGPKXRH

and one of this: http://www.amazon.com/Emotiva-UPA-700-S ... YWAWJ7YTAA

Oh don't get me wrong, it's great gear for the price, it's just a rather hilarious name choice for a company.

And did you play with all the settings Comixion?

Disabling SBX Pro and using "Stereo Direct" would give you the cleanest output, as in that it would be totally untouched by software enhancements.

Though I turn on the SBX Pro stuff when using my headphones since it makes my Razer headset sound better IMO.

Yes the z.

I saw the stereo direct in the drop down menu but didnt really try it.
I used the exact same settings as in my recon 3d plus a few other tweaks.
It sounded well...muddy. Muddled? The bass was atrocious even all the way down. I use tye Bose companion 3 and even adjusted the bass all the way down. And it was not as clean and clear as the recon. You didnt dare turn it up to even a reasonable level or it would sound like someone crammed cotton in your headphones. Im trying to explain the best I can. I fiddled for hours and could not get a good sound. Much less a great one. I exchanged it for a new recon3d and it works perfectly.
