Post Cellphone connection
Why isnt my Infuse connecting to the internet? Only my ATT wireless works when I connect when I enter the code. Otherwise nothing. My Impression worked fine as well as my other 2 cellphones. What settings am I missing?

They should of configured this at the store before giving it to you...

Sounds like the APN settings are missing.

Yep, they sure should have. I have unlimited Internet package so I kinda need it to work. I'll be back by there today.

Well I found out it was the phone. Thing is I have to take it back to the Authorized retailer store I got it from for an exchange. No biggie.

But what is a biggie is the motherfucker at the ATT store that checked it out deleted all my contact numbers. I didnt noticed it until i got back to the office. that dumbass tested it by removing my sim card and installing another one. He tested a new sim card in my phone and still could not connect to the internet. He then tried it in another Infuse and it worked. So its the phone. However....he deleted ALL my numbers. I tell you one dam thing, when I go back tomrrow he better wave a magic wand and put them all back with some kinda Voodoo or something, I dont care, or give me a free phone case. I bet I come out of there with one of the 2.

Umm you should have all your contacts on your Google account so they "roam" with you...not on the SIM card.

Yep true.....but was also is true that an AHEM..."official" ATT salesman should have had the sense and profession to ask about my contact list or anything else before he made this stupid mistake I'm about to tell you about.

I told him the issue, he then looks at it, fondles it, removes my sim card, tosses it, scans a new one, installs it....same issue. He dosent know how to fix it. So he removes his from his iphone4, puts it in mine...still doesnt work. He then says my phone is the issue and to return it. Well, not knowing he sucked out all my contacts, I leave and get back to the office and discover it. Fucking idiot.
He should of at least had the courtesy,,,or should I say sense, to ask me or bring it up.
So I return it to where I got it. The guy takes it, pushes a few buttons and hands it back to me. Fixed!!!.
"Use Packet Data" ...was unchecked.
Ok so I dont know about that setting and thats all it was. And the idiot at the Main ATT store didnt know this? plus loses my shit? I will be visiting him tomorrow. And I won't be bearing gifts.

I bet you went into an AT&T kiosk store where there are a bunch of reps "waiting" to help out customers, like yourself. Most of those are young people who are just learning the ropes and some don't have a clue about all the new phones. I had a similar experience when I got my WP7 back in November when it first came out. Only one person knew how to program the new phone. Though the girl was good looking and very nice, she didn't know much about the new phone ...
