Post SuperSpeed USB devices ... anyone have one?
I just did an upgrade on my external HDD enclosure from a Vantec NexStar 3 USB 2.0 to a Silverstone USB 3.0 external tool-less HDD enclosure. I will say that I noticed a big difference in my back-up times (way less!!)

Has anyone gotten on the SuperSpeed bandwagon? I am curious ... but I haven't seen any USB 3.0 thumb drives ... (too lazy to look as I type this ... )

EDIT: Nevermind ... I just Googled and wow ... they're everywhere ...

I had a 64GB USB3 thumbdrive on my XMas list, but apparently I didn't behave well enough this year. I was looking forward to some 100MB/sec+ data transfers.

I have a USB3 WD Passport 1TB. Double the speed compared to USB2, however the USB3 card I have (from EVGA w/ NEC chipset) doesn't work very well. It's the flakiest piece of hardware I've ever owned.

The USB3 in my laptop, also NEC based, works marginally better but still sometimes it doesn't run at USB3 speeds for whatever reason.

I forgot to mention that I had ordered the Silverstone USB 3.0 Internal 19pin dual port PCI-e x1 card with front I/O panel. Haven't installed it yet, (it came over the weekend) but looking forward to getting it in the new server.

What NEC chip is on your card JD? Mine is the NEC uPD720700

Nice
Can you overclock it and install a backplate?

haha .. you're a funny guy. Do you know how small that chip is? Seriously doubt that I could OC it, but I'm sure someone would try it. A copper heatsink might fit, but why? I doubt it would ever get hot enough to warrant cooling ... ;)

This is how small the add-in controller is:

Yours has an "A" in it, not sure what that means :P

I could use a card like yours though so I can use the USB3 front ports in my Cosmos II.

Now that there's a reference I see how tiny it is. That would be easy to lose on that junky desk of yours. ;)
