Post JD..SSD plz
I assume you know quite a bit about these. I'm quite the Novice on 'em.
Just point me to a nice one not too expensive but yet no crummy one. Just enough capacity to do the job. I don't store anything really. Just gaming. I'm currently using a 1TB WD Caviar Black.

I personally don't put any games on my SSD. It does absolutely nothing for them IMO.

I think you'd be fine with a 60GB, though they're typically slower. Larger capacity = faster due to having more flash chips that it can read/write from.

At this point in time, I'd suggest a Vertex 3.

Yeah Windows, programs and benchmarks I run from the SSD :)

Everything else is on my RAID10 (games, music, photos, etc).

Corsair Force Series 3 would be a good choice too. Similar to the Vertex 3, but a bit cheaper I believe. There's also the Agility 3 and Solid 3 but they're slower than the Vertex 3, however more affordable too.

But all this is under the assumption of you getting the Z68 so you have SATA6. If you're not upgrading platforms, then you can get a Vertex 2 (make sure it uses 16 chips, not the gimped 8 chip ones) or C300 or C400/m4.

If you play single player games, level loading will be faster on an SSD. They are faster when loading multiplayer games as well, but then you just sit there and wait on the Celeron Noob.

I found it to be barely noticeable, but then again I've always ran my games off RAID5 and now RAID10...so I guess my read speeds have always been rather high.
