Post Icy Dock 2.5 - 3.5 bay adapter
I just bought a pair of these Icy Dock units. Thought I'd share my opinion.

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... -_-Product

I need them to fit SSD's into 3.5" hotswap bays. they fit perfectly, no issue. The reviews are right though, if you read some of the comments on newegg, there's several that say the builtin lever to push the drive into place doesn't work well. You're definitely better off unscrewing the sata connector a smidge and pushing the drive in manually and tightening the screws back up.

I really wish it were made of aluminum though, it's thick, well vented, and if it could act as a heatsink as well, it would be great, I would have happily paid 30-40 for them if they were.

Otherwise, exactly what I expected, and does what I needed. I would buy more.

Yeah I've had one of those for a while now. Hasn't let me down yet and use it quite a bit for swapping in SSD's since my Cosmos II only has 3.5" hotswap bays facing out front.

I really do wish they came in a solid chunk of aluminum though. But what can you do.

You're welcome.

I as well have had the plastic model to adapt my SSD into my Mac Pro and it's been awesome! Although I never need to remove it.

I looked at that one, it's steel, not aluminum, i don't see how it would disperse heat all that well, i'm not saying it wouldn't, but meh in comparison

If I were a betting man (which I am), I would say it would still dissipate heat better than plastic.

I'm not saying otherwise, but it's still not aluminum, and these are in a 1U chassis, the case is like a vacuum, plastic will be fine
