Post My BIOS
Some info for you JD. Compare it to yours. I know your RAM is different. I backed off the 1.66V to 1.64. Seems I was having anxiety issues with the color red and those black letters above it. ;) 1.60v would not boot. So 1.64v.
As for the CPU. I'm bumping back to 4.3 in a few.

You probably want to leave the TM Function and Execute Disable Bit enabled. TM Function for sure unless you want to overheat your CPU...

I guess your board/CPU is slightly better. Tough for me to run 210 BCLK, though the only difference I see is that I'm only using 800mW CPU Differential Amplitude. I also lack this "Xtreme Phase" option too.

And are you Prime95 stable? I know I can boot up at similar settings to you, but it crashes under Prime95 pretty quickly.

have you tried 1000mW?

How quickly does it crash?
I ran it back a couple months ago at 4.3 but for only 2 hours and was stable, but not recenty. Only Benchmarking like 3DMark06 and Heaven. Which is not a true test. What's the norm Prime95 runtime for assuring stable OC? If there is one.
And also, what are considered safe CPU temps both at idle and under stress?
Right now...on air I'm idling at 46-48C idle. 61-65C when gaming for an hour or so.

Thing only thing different from the pics is

TM Function---Enabled
Excecute Disable bit---Enabled
Dram voltage--1.64v

Gonna bump to 4.3 now and run 3DMark06 for a test run first.
And OC the 480 from 700 to 725.

Most go with 6-24h of Prime95 to be "stable".

And no, haven't tried 1000mW.

It crashes between a few minutes to an hour. Depends on the voltages I'm using of course.

Seems like having your CPU under constant stress that long would be a worry. I know I would be.

They're design to do it at stock, so it should be able to OC'd too if you've done it right ;)

Yea, I understand. Idle is one thing. But still if you think about it. Have your CPU pushed to it's max, constantly, for 24hrs. It DOES have to make you wonder. Even though the tests are designed to do so and he CPU's designed to withstand.
Still, it's nerve racking. ;)
It's a chance you take I guess.

I'd rather it fail during that than when I'm doing something (that may be critical).

Precisely. Hate having BFBC2 crash mid-game

Post Re: My BIOS
JD. when I updated my BIOS from 0703 to 0813 it added something in the BIOS AITweaker page. I didn't write it down but it's right under:

"QPI Link Data Rate" then under that:

"yada yada 3rd party yada yada"

I'll have to see if I can find it online here at work, maybe on Asus's site.

Also DRAM Frequency went from 1683 to 1603 in the list choice.

Post Re: My BIOS
Also should PCI Spread Spectrum be enabled for SLI or crossfire? What exactly is it;s function, or the lack thereof?

I like this one guys question about it. lol

Do I want it enabled or disabled?
Will it help my overclock?
Is it limiting speed at stock?
Is it making PCI noise that my sound device can pick up?
Does it make personal pan pizzas?
Will it convince my mom to let me go to Tijuana???

??????????????????????????????
??????????????????????????????
??????????????????????????????

Can anybody help?

Well I'm not sure what it does either...all ASUS says is that it might help BCLK overclocking. Doubt it matters what you have it on in reality though.

I believe the point of spread spectrum though was to reduce noise in the communication between CPU/PCIe and the chipset.

No idea what "new" feature you have though. No BIOS updates for me in a while.
