Post Weekend Project.
As some might know, my first computer that I build back in 2006 ended up in my office once again. One thing I noticed is that the gpu fan was super load. The previous owner or even I haven't touched that 7800gt since new. So I decided to clean it up a bit by redoing the thermal paste with arctic silver Ceramique and oil the fan. Hair clipper oil works awesome for this type of project. Haven't installed windows to see the temps, but it does spin quieter.

Old thermal pads

Heavy copper heatshink

Installing thermal pads that took forever to get here from Asia via Amazon.

I also had some spare parts laying around that house that I wanted to build a system out of. Athlon X2 cpu with a mini ITX board. Had no heatsink or back plate to secure anything. Took an idea from Reddit and used the best tool ever. Zip ties.

ancient Intel cooler on a am2 socket. Going to fire it up after I find a PSU and note the temps.
