Intel to delay launch of Ivy Bridge CPU to January 2012
According to my friends over at Digitimes, they reported this a few days ago:

Quote:
Intel has recently decided to launch its next-generation Ivy Bridge CPU in March of 2012, back from its original schedule at the end of 2011 to allow a better transition between the new and old platform, according to sources from notebook players.
The sources pointed out that the delay of the Ivy Bridge platform will give vendors more time to sell their Sandy Bridge-based notebook models.
Due to Intel Sandy Bridge's 6 series chipset design flaw, Intel recalled the products in January and launched a fixed chipset in April, leaving notebook players suffering from two months of lower demand. With the notebook market also experiencing an impact from the tablet PCs, Intel has decided to slow down its pace and re-organize its lineup by delaying the launch.
Ivy Bridge was originally expected to start mass production in November of 2011 and will be announced in January of 2012, but the delay is expected to move the official launch to after March 2012.

So if anyone wants to get the Ivy Bridge CPU sooner, I'd suggest you have your friends and family buy a bunch of Sandy Bridge notebooks, pronto! :)

Me? Going on about? Naw...just been lazy this weekend. Watching movies and stuff...and stuff. Kicked back playing a little Bioshock 2 to enrich my spirit. I'll get to it as soon as it marinates. :)

Nope..4.6 so far on the CPU.

Thing is I moved the 580 up to the 1st PCIE slot and there really was no improvement in benchmarks. Also I can only get it 890 core. When on my X58 board I had it at up to 970. Anything over 890 and it freezes at the 3DMark11 PhysX test.

The problem isn't the cpu. I can get that up higher. It's the dam 580. I don't think it likes it's new home. ;) And these are the same drivers. I even reverted back to the 270.xx's but that took 500+ points of benchmarks. So now I went back to 275.33. And same voltages on the GPU. Got the points back but 890 is the ceiling for now. But I'll live with newer over faster.
Anybody got any extra crack?

Have you tried doing a clean install of Windows Steve? I think that'll fix this mess right up :)

I did that when I installed the mobo. But like I say...the cpu is fine. Just the 580 being a little stubborn.
